Group Exercise and Health Course

Course Description

Embark on a 10-week health journey with 7-10 London-based middle-aged and older adults. Gain strength, balance, and social connection while learning how to improve sleep, reduce stress, and change your habits for just £3.75 per session (20 sessions). We'll meet every Monday and Thursday from 1:00-2:30pm from 28 March - 2 June 2022. Each session includes socialising followed by exercises which are customised and scaled for middle-aged and older adults. The instructor assumes that many participants joining the course will have osteoarthritis, knee or hip replacements, lower back issues, and other physical ailments common with age and, therefore, designs the session accordingly. The exercises, however, will likely be challenging regardless of your physical capabilities and over time will progress at a pace that is right for you. Following the exercise we'll take a short break (2 min) and then reconvene for a guided group discussion on a health topic, such as improving sleep, managing stress, and nutrition as well as more holistic topics such as finding purpose in retirement, the health benefits of social connection, and moving forward after bereavement. Before and after every session you will receive an email from the instructor outlining the key information about the health topic of the day. You'll be provided PDF resources, links to videos and talks on the subject, and within the follow-up emails you'll receive a recap of the discussion with answers and guidance to any of your outstanding questions. Attendance and Cancellations

Retaining a consistent group of participants who attend regularly is important to our courses and classes. However, we understand that you will likely be unable to attend every session and we expect your attendance rate to be around 80%. Do let us know if the dates and times available are not compliant with your schedule and we'll hopefully be able to provide you with other alternatives. If you feel, after attending a few sessions, Walk+Talk is not for you, we are more than happy to provide you a full refund. Please cancel with us prior to attending your 5th session if joining our course.
